Profound Statement from Mr. Robinson Bernard MAGULU the Board Chairman, PACER Cancer Support Consortium (PCSC)
As Chairman of PACER Cancer Support Consortium (PCSC), I am proud to launch this groundbreaking initiative, the first of its kind in Uganda and East Africa. Our mission is to revolutionize cancer care through Partnership, Awareness, Compassion, Empowerment, and Research (PACER).
We urge well-wishers, partners, government, and development partners to support us in making PCSC a reality. Together, we can: provide access to quality cancer care for all, raise awareness and educate communities, show compassion and support to those affected, empower individuals and families to take control of their health and conduct innovative research to improve cancer outcomes
This statement aims to raise the profile of PACER Cancer Support Consortium, solicit support from various stakeholders, and emphasize the importance of partnership in the fight against cancer in East Africa.
As, I radiate this information to the gallery, I stand and present before you today as the Chairman of PCSC, I am reminded of the devastating impact of cancer on our lives. This disease has taken our loved ones, friends, relatives, and comrades, leaving behind scars that never fully heal. Colleagues, in the face of pain and loss, we find strength and purpose, hence the motivation to start this initiative. I, and a team of dedicated professionals with relentless energy, zeal and passion remain committed to defining ways and means of fighting cancer with every resource that is and will come at our disposal.
Let me assure each of you, we will not rest until we have conquered this disease and ensured that no one else suffers the same pain and loss that we have and continue to endure. We will continue to raise awareness, support research, and provide care and support to those affected by cancer. PACER Cancer Support Consortium remain with the vision is to transform cancer care in Uganda and East Africa through:
- Comprehensive cancer therapy groups, providing access to quality treatment and support services.
- Extensive cancer awareness programs, educating the public and dispelling myths and misconceptions.
- Strategic partnerships with healthcare providers, NGOs, and government agencies to ensure a unified approach.
- Cutting-edge research and innovation, driving progress in cancer diagnosis and treatment.
- Empowering patients, families, and communities to take control of their health and well-being.
As the first private sector-led intervention of its kind, PCSC is poised to revolutionize cancer care in our region. Indeed, my team and through, PCSC, partners current and latent, we aim to:
- Bridge the gap in cancer care in Uganda and East Africa
- Provide hope and support to those affected by cancer
- Foster a culture of awareness and early detection
- Drive innovation and progress in cancer treatment
- Make cancer care accessible and affordable for all
Cancer is a formidable foe, but together, we can defeat it. The time for action is now

- Development partners: to support our efforts and invest in cancer control
- Civil leaders: to amplify our message and mobilize communities
- Academia: to collaborate on research and innovation
- Practitioners: to join forces and share expertise
